Private Collection: c. 1959 Mansfield Manufacturing Holiday II 8mm Cine Turret Triple Lens Camera

This is a Holiday II 8mm Cine Turret Triple Lens Camera manufactured by Mansfiled Manufacturing in Japan c. 1959. This 8mm camera was used to make home movies. It works by turning a crank which winds up a spring and moving the selector switch to release the spring which opens and closes the shutter as the blank film passes by the lens and records what ever the camera is pointed at. The camera has a built in light sensor. The three lenses and filter selector allows the amateaur videographer to select the best option for light conditions and distance to what he or she is recording using the chart on the side of the camera. Once the film was used in the camera the videographer would take or send it to a lab to be developed and the 8mm home movie would be sent back to them but some could do so themselves.

Today amateur videographers simply use the built in digital camera on their smart phones to record home movies. The apps used automatically adjust for distance and light conditions on digital cameras.

This camera still works and 8mm film is still available to purchase to be developed at a phot/video processing lab.

The camera and case are in a private collection in NW Iowa. the current owner is going to purchase film and reocrd with the camera.

Project 900 is a personal goal of getting to 900 finds for Team_Vod.

At the time of creating this list Team_Vod's current find count is 873.

Geocaching is largely supposed to be about the adventure and journey of searching for, making the find and logging the geocache.

As such the list of geocache's that make up Project 900 are in areas that are more interesting such as state parks, city parks, scenic overlooks, or areas with scenic views. Some are only accessible by bicycling or walking. Because of this it will take longer to reach 900 geocache finds

Project 900 is broken into smaller goals. For example reaching 875, then 880, etc. etc. until Team_Vod reaches 900 finds.

As of the creation of this list Team_Vod needs 27 finds to reach 900. Project 900 has enough cache's in this list to help ensure its success in case there are some that cannot be found. As the cache's are found and logged they will be removed from this list.
