Private Collection: 1930's to 1940's Marlin Firearms Ranger .22 Caliber Model 36 s-l-lr Rifle

This .22 caliber rifle was built sometime in the 1930's to 1940's by Marlin Firearms. It was called the Ranger Model 36 and can fire short, long and long rifle rim fire bullets. This model was made for and sold by Sears and Roebuck Company and was sold in their catalog at the time. It is a magazine fed, bolt action rifle. Marlin Firearms still produces a modern, 21st Century model if this rifle today. This rifle was manufactured before the federal government required serial numbers for firearms. This one is in a private collection in NW Iowa.
