Mackinaw Bridge Museum

The Mackinaw Bridge, or Mighty Mac as it is often called was constructed from 1954 to 1957. Mr. J.C. Stilwell was one of the iron workers who helped build the bridge. He created and operates the Mackinaw Bridge Museum located on the second floor of Mama Mia's Pizza in Mackinaw City, Michigan. This blogger had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Mr. Stilwell on a recent visit to Mackinaw City and the museum. Mr. Stilwell loves to tell the story of the bridge. His museum educates others about the construction of the Mighty Mac and is a dedication to the construction of the bridge but most importantly to the men who built it, especially the 5 men who lost their lives during its construction.

To Mr. Stilwell this blogger says thank you for helping to build the bridge and for the museum.
