Gerald R. Ford Boyhood Home

In the Heritage Hill Historic District of Grand Rapids, Michigan is the boyhood home of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford.

President Ford resided in the home from the age of 8 to the age of 17. He used the second floor of the garage as a social club for he and his friends where they played penny-ante poker. He is quoted as saying "it was a great hideaway because my parents wouldn't climb the ladder to the second floor-- or so I thought." Of all of his homes he remembers this one most vividly.

The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
