Corner Bar Approved? Lally's Eatside Restaurant

Lally's Eastside Restaurant is a local favorite in Le Mars, Iowa. They prepare and serve from home style comfort food.

One of the items offered from their menu are Coney Dog's. Lally's Coney Dog' are certainly Corner Bar approved. The coney dog's are made with tavern meat and chopped onions. The tavern meat has diced dill pickle mixed into the meat.

Lally's Eastside Restaurant is also serves taverns or loose meat sandwiches. Since 2018 Lally's tavern's are now the standard by which all loss meat or tavern sandwiches are judged.

With the Lalley's Coney Dog you get the best of both.

Opa Time is a Greek restaurant that offers and serves a variety of Greek and American comfort food. One item they offer is chili dogs.

The chili dogs that were taste tested were consumed at the restaurant. Two were tested. Both meet the qualifications and criteria to be Corner Bar Approved.

Schweddy's Hot Dog Shop opened their two locations at each end of 4th St. in Sioux City, Iowa in 2018.

The chili dogs that were taste tested were consumed in the hot dog shop at the west end of 4th St. Two were tested. Both meet the qualifications and criteria to be Corner Bar Approved.

Schweddy's has plenty of other hot dogs on the menu to be consumed. If they are half as good as the chili dogs the tester will be making more than one return trip.

Corner Bar Approved? Burger King Grilled Dogs

On Thursday March 24, 2016 the grilled dogs offered at Burger King on Hamilton Blvd in Sioux City, Iowa were taste tested. Both the classic and chili cheese dogs were consumed. Each grilled dog was ordered with everything on them that is offered on the menu. Both grilled dogs are Corner Bar Approved. Burger King has been flame grilling burgers since 1954. They have it down to a science for a franchise restaurant. Hopefully their grilled dogs will become a permanent part of their menu.

An aversion to attributing a quote to the wrong person.

There are a lot of famous quotes that have been made by now historically famous people. However some of these historic figures never said some of the quotes they are thought to have said.

As mentioned in the previous article there is no reason this should be happening in the 21st Century with the correct information literally at our fingertips.

Attributing certain quotes to historic figures really needs to stop, and the history books need to be rewritten with the correct information.

Here are some classic examples:

People think Voltaire said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." He never made this statement. The quote was made by Evelyn Beatrice Hall a century later.

Another misquoted person is Mark Twain. He is thought to have said "The only two certainties in life are death and taxes." When in fact he never made this statement. Different versions of the quote were written both by Christopher Bullock and Edward Ward.

Another is this quote: "There’s a sucker born every minute" thought to have been made by PT Barnum. The quote was made by one of his competitors.

When people attribute quotes to historic figures they need to get their facts straight and make the person actually made the statement.
