Big & Mysterious History of Sioux City, Iowa: Roberts and Cordura Murder, Recap and Summary II

I think it is safe to say there is little to no doubt the relationship between the Indians and the white citizens was for lack of a better word strained. Sure there were Indian tribal leaders who lead the way to peace between the two sides. On the opposite side of this there seemed to be more Indian tribal leaders who wanted nothing more than to wage war and cause conflict with the whites. They stole, killed, kidnapped, tortured and harassed the white settlers from Sioux City to Smithland, to Spirit Lake to Minnesota and points in between.

Was the atrocities on both sides warranted? Maybe. I will let the readers make up their own minds.

For right now most of the story of the conflict between the two sides is told from the white mans perspective with very little from the Indian side. I am waiting to learn about the Indian version of this story. Until such time the events spoken of in these articles shall stand as evidence as to what happened.

This story is not over with yet. There is still more to be told. Next is the main focus of these articles. the murder of Henry Cordura and Thomas Roberts. I'm not going to spoil it for you, you will have to wait and read the articles as they are published to learn what happened.
