Mitchell, SD: Corn Palace, Timeline, 2010 - 2015

Mitchell, South Dakota is home to the world's only corn palace. It is the city auditorium. It is not the first corn palace. Sioux City, Iowa was home to the first corn palace's. The Mitchell, SD Corn Palace is on the National Register of Historic Places. When the corn palace was visited in 2018 the exterior was in the process of being changed from a weather theme to a military theme. The interior is not changed.

Private Collection: RAGBRAI XXXVIII, 2010 Souvenir

RAGBRAI is an annual, 7 day long bike ride across Iowa. It starts at or near the western border and ends at or near the eastern border of the state. There are both overnight and pass through towns along the route. These towns have themes and sell or hand out souvenirs to mark the occasion when RAGBRAI came through and stayed in their town. This item is from Plover, Iowa. In 2010 Plover was one of the pass through towns during RAGBRAI XXXVIII. These bells were sold to help raise money for the town church.

Saturday In The Park: Rockin' for 25 Years, 2015, Aretha Franklin

Since 1991 there has been a free music festival called Saturday In The Park held over the 4th of July weekend in Sioux City, Iowa's Grandview Park. It attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the annual event every year.

On temporary display at the Sioux City Public Museum is the Saturday In The Park: Rockin' for 25 Years exhibit. It shows the important history of the event and how it has evolved over the last 25 years.
