Battle Flag Hall, Flags in the Collection at the State Historical Museum of Iowa, Iowa's Only African-American Regiment

On temporary display at the State Historical Museum of Iowa in Des Moines is the Battle Flag Hall, Flags in the Collection at the State Historical Museum of Iowa exhibit. This exhibit shows battle flags from Iowa's past infantry regiments, Calvary units and cannon battery's who fought in the American Civil War. The exhibit also shows one of the earliest state flags and an early engineers flag.
