History and Culture by Bicycle Part 212: CASTLE WALL PRODUCTIONS

The weekend of October 2nd and 3rd, 2010 at the annual Sioux City Riverssance Festival this blog author had the fortunate opportunity to see the actors with a theatrical combat troupe, called Castle Wall Productions perform as medieval characters, both fictional and historical. Based in 1149 AD England they specialize in live-steel entertainment with various weapons. The weapons are very real and authentic. While the portrayal of the various characters using the weapons is controlled and choreographed it is very much the real deal. The actors are every bit as interesting and diversified as the characters they portray.
