Liberty Bell

In 1950 The U.S. Department of the Treasury presented this miniature Liberty Bell to Iowa as a thank you for the states efforts of the previous 10 years in war-bond drives. Governor William Beardsley appropriately dedicated this symbol of independence on Independence Day. The bell was cast in Annery-le-Vieux, France and weighs 2,000 pounds.

It is located at the Iowa State Capitol Complex as part of the Monuments and Memorials Tour.
