In 2018 the Woodbury County Courthouse building celebrated 100 years.
Construction began in 1916 and the building opened in 1918. The courthouse is Prairie School Architecture in design. It was designed by William L Steele, William G. Purcell and George G. Elmslie. Various artists were commissioned to create the beautiful murals and sculptures that adorn the building.
This photo is of one of the many door knobs through out the courthouse with the letter "W" on them. The W stands for Woodbury County.
