Wild Life: Sioux City, Iowa, Private Property, White Tail Buck & Doe, 07/13/2019

These white tail deer were observed on private property in Sioux City, Iowa. They live near the Perry Creek area. One is a buck that has started to grow his antler. The other is a doe with only three legs, she may have been born without one of her front legs. She gets around just fine and being in a city she is less likely to be attacked by predators. Both are about 18 months old.

his white tail doe was observed along the recreation trail on the peninsula in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. She was standing at a "T" intersection of the trail very near the wildlife observation tower along the Missouri River.

This red sided garter snake was observed in a cedar tree in Bacon Creek Park in Sioux City, Iowa. There is a single track mountain bike and hiking trail just on the other side of the small tree the snake was in. The snake was on the opposite side of the tree and would not have been seen from the trail.
