M.V. Sergeant Floyd: Where She Wintered

The M.V. Sergeant Floyd performed her duties on the Missouri River during all except the winter months of the year. During the winter she was relocated to "balmy" Gasgonade, Missouri.

As the M.V. Sergeant Floyd was used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to survey, channel, monitor, patrol, change and modify the Missouri River river charts had to be produced.

During the various tours on the Missouri River the crew needed additional help from others. When this occurred a Quarter Boat was brought in and used to house the additional men.
