Recently the Sioux City Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a "Tourist In You Town" campaign. The objective is to get people who live in Sioux City to visit what the city has to offer for historical sites, cultural and entertainment events. To help with this effort the city sent, to each resident, a passport that has a list of selected places to visit.
Here is the passport:
This blogger has visited all of them except the IBP Ice Center. Here are the places he has posted about on this blog site:
Art Center
Public Museum 1
Public Museum 2
Historic Railroad Museum 1
Historic Railroad Museum 2
Mid America Air Museum
Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center
Sioux Gateway Airport
Long Lines Family Rec Center 1
Long Lines Family Rec Center 2
Tyson Event Center
Palmer Olde-Tyme Candy Shoppe
9 of these sites are located in or within 1 mile of the downtown Sioux City area making it really easy for this blogger to ride bike to each site to have his passport stamped. The other locations that are further away were also easily reached by bicycle.
Future blog posts will include the places on the passport the blogger has visited, but did not create a post for.
Here is this blogger's stamped passport with 9 stamps. The 10th stamp is not shown because the passport was left at the 10th location. The Sioux City Convention and Visitors Bureau will collect them to see how many people are visiting what Sioux City has to offer. There is also an incentive for visiting the locations and having the passport stamped.
