Mackinaw City

The village of Mackinaw City has a lot of history. There are 54 stops along the Historical Pathway and 11 historical sites. The larger historical sites have already been posted on this blog. Much of the history is due to the importance of the village associated with the Straits of Mackinac.

Michilimackinac

The village of Mackinaw City was once a fort called Michilimackinac. It was moved to Mackinac Island during the American Revolution.
