Sioux City History & Culture by Bicycle Part 6: Anderson Dance Pavillion

Another attraction on the Sioux City Riverfront is the Anderson Dance Pavillion. It has been the site for weddings, church services, class photos, bands also play there from time to time. As you can see from the photo's there were some guys there enjoying a game of soccer while others watched. It is also where Art Splash is put on every year over Labor Day Weekend. It is a beautiful place to go & relax as well a real jewel of the city. The dance pavillion is also right on the multi-use trail/path. I pass by it every time I ride along the Missouri River.

Sioux City History & Culture by Bicycle Part 28: Art Splash

Art Splash is Sioux City's premier art festival. It is held the Saturday & Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. This was it's 15th Year. Artists from local area & around the region attend by applying & then they are selected by a committee & invited to attend. Artists from previous years who have won awards at Art Splash are automatically invited back the next year, if they want to come.

Art Splash is held on the Sioux City River Front near & around the Anderson Dance Pavillion.

There are hands on art projects for the kids & adults. Live entertainment at the Anderson Dance Pavillion. And of course the artists selling their works & pieces for anyone who would like to purchase them.

The tunnel is the pedestrian/bike access to the river front from the Tyson Event Center/Long Lines Family Center parking lots. During events like Art Splash these 2 lots are used.
