Inside the Sioux Police Department is a museum exhibiting the history of the SCPD. SCPD started in 1857, very shortly after Sioux City was platted and organized. Over the last 156 years there have been significant changes in police tactics, methods, personal, training, equipment, technology and weapons. This museum does a great job of portraying the changes the Sioux City Police Department has seen over its 156 year history. the museum is located inside the police department headquarters building in downtown Sioux City, Iowa.
Authors note: The Sioux City Police Department Headquarters is a secure entrance building. The museum is open to anyone who would like to tour it and photography is allowed. To tour the museum individuals or groups must contact the police department to schedule a time so an officer is available to conduct the tour.
This blog is about historical and cultural sites, places and events all over the world visited by bicycle or that could be visited by bicycle. It is to show that a motor vehicle does not always have to be used and it is often better to visit these places by bicycle.
