Found it as part of Project 900.

After travelling up near Sanborn, Iowa to pick our own strawberries at Gettings Garden we went into Sheldon, Iowa to attempt the only Where I Go cache there. Something happened at one of the stages and it took us back to the beginning of the cartridge and we would have had to start over again. It was really hot outside, 96 degrees with a heat index above 100, so we called it quits on that one and headed back toward Sioux City.

We stopped in Le Mars, Iowa to have lunch at Lally's Eastside restaurant. While there we looked at geocache's we had not logged yet and found this one.

We decided it was perfect for today because of outdoor temperature. We stopped at its location and logged the find and headed home to Sioux City.

Harvesting Strawberries

Gettings Garden near Sanborn, Iowa is where people can go to pick their own strawberries. People do this for the experience of picking their own strawberries but there are can pre-picked flats or quarts. This year the strawberries are ready a little bit later than normal because of the weather in the late spring. The picking season will last about a month to a month and a half.

Found it as part of Project 900. This makes find 880 for Team_Vod.

Replaced the log with a fresh, dry one. CITO'd the very wet and mushy log out, it was not able to be signed even with a space pen.

The river loop is open but there is still some sand on the trail near the river. The river is still high.

Warrior Hotel, New Life and New Future

In early 2019 plans were unveiled to bring the Warrior Hotel back to life. Developers have since started construction and restoration on the 89 year old building to turn it back into a functioning hotel with many luxury features. Along with retoring the Warrior Hotel Building, it's neighbor to the west, the Davidson Building is also being renovated and restored to be part of the new hotel. Pnce complete the new hotel will have a bowling alley and swimming pool in the basement, a spa on the main floor. The ball room wil be restored back to its original beauty on the 1st floor with rooms ranging from luxury suites to standard rooms on the upper floors. The ground floor will host retail space for small businesses. The top floors will have apartments. The new hotel will be part of the Marriot Hotel Autograph Collection of hotels. The Autograph Collection are historic buildings, some were originally hotels, that are restored to their original beauty and historic value and turned back into a functioning hotel. The Warrior will be complete and opened as a new hotel in the summer of 2020.
