The former E. C. Simmons Company Warehouse is now the Sioux City Hard Rock Casino and Hotel. When it was the warehouse company it was one of only two buildings in or near downtown that had a clock tower. The other building was the federal courthouse and post office, which today is Sioux City City Hall. The clock that was in the warehouse clock tower was a Seth Thomas Clock Movement. The clock had not been operational for years and was removed when the hotel and casino were built. This exhibit on dispaly at the Sioux City Public Museum shows how the clock worked:
