There was a Native American blessing and prayer ceremony because of the importance of the area.
This blog is about historical and cultural sites, places and events all over the world visited by bicycle or that could be visited by bicycle. It is to show that a motor vehicle does not always have to be used and it is often better to visit these places by bicycle.

Old Missouri River Trail Monument Re-dedication Ceremony
On June 9, 2019 at War Eagle Park in Sioux City Iowa there was a re-dedication ceremony for the Old Missouri River Trail Monument. The original monument was installed in 1929. At some point the original plaque went missing but the rock it was mounted to is still there. A new base was built and the original rock placed on it with a new plaque made from the original blueprints of the original. A gravel pedestrian trail was built for easy access to the monument.
